germy germs

on average, an adult can touch as many as 30 objects within a minute.  yuck

1.  Have you ever seen anyone wash a restaurant menu?  Studies show that cold and flu viruses can survive for 18 hours on hard surfaces.  Don't let a menu touch your plate or silverware and wash your hands after you place your order.

2.  70% of the lemon wedges perched on the rims of restaurant glasses contain disease-causing microbes.  Researchers have ordered drinks at 21 different restaurants, they found 25 different microorganisms lingering on the 76 lemons they secured, including E. coli and other fecal bacteria.  Order beverage without fruit.

3.  Condiment Dispensers, yuck again.  now I have to sanitize the outside of the condiment bottle?  sheeeeesh

4.  Bathroom handles.  no explanation necessary

5.  Bathroom Soap Dispensers harbor bacteria and grow as the soap scum builds up especially where you touch to dispense the soap.  Looks like my hand sanitizer is getting another workout.

6.  Shopping carts and those yummy free samples.  again, no explanation necessary.

7.  Airplane bathrooms - see above and buy more hand sanitizer.

8.  Doctor's office - bring your own magazine and remember that germ droplets from coughing and sneezing can travel about 3 feet before falling to the floor.

Lesson learned:    HAND SANITIZER  !!!    STAT  !!!
