not only did i figure out how to send out emails automatically but i was just able to import my OLD blog to this blog.  i am stoked!!!!

another worry

i haven't heard from jose moreno.  our last text was a month ago and it's been a two weeks and he hasn't answered any texts or voice messages.  He said he was recovering from his hernia surgery but was still in a lot of pain.  he's not answering my messages.  please be okay, jose.

    My family had been midwifes for as long as anyone could remember in our small village. For hundreds of years my ancestors helped bring life into the world. We also are expert plants people who understand the power one could draw from herbs and roots. With what we know about plants we been able to heal or at least the ease the pain of our neighbors. But our gift to give and save lives was also our curse. We had to careful guard ourselves. We could so easily be labeled as witches and followers of the Dark Arts. Because of that danger my family has always been active in the church life and the doing of good works. Whenever there was trouble or distress, we were there, to lend a hand and help in anyway we could. We made sure to donate heavily to the church projects, and unless on our death beds, never missed a church service.
    
    I met my beloved friend, Elizabeth Suzanne, one Sunday morning in the church yard. She was a daughter of a Ship’s captain and his foreign-born, wife, Minamoto. The captain bought Minamoto to live in our cold, northern climate. Shortly after giving birth to Elizabeth, Minamoto died, living the child motherless. Elizabeth had her mother’s silky, blue-black hair, pearly white skin, and eyes that told the story of her mother’s exotic homeland. Due to the nature of his business, Elizabeth’s father often left the child alone with a governess while he traveled the seas. Elizabeth’s early life was a lonely one. Elizabeth was different from her blue-eyed, blond and redheaded neighbors. Her beauty made her suffer, the object of teasing and stares. I knew what it was like to have people gossip and fear you, so Elizabeth and I became perfect playmates for one another. And so a friendship developed that spanned many decades.
