The driers make the restroom dirtier, too, spewing germs more than six feet. Redway named paper towels the winner.

my bff needed a good lip gloss and we were shopping around Sephora a couple weekends ago.

well, we didn't find one BUT...

i heard of a new lip gloss that's used by women in sports that's supposed to work good.

so, i'm sharing their link.  it's called girl powder and i think it might work.  i hate gloss that is so sticky that my hair gets caught in it but i like the shiny shiny of a good thick lip gloss.  so girl powder is supposed to the shit.

yes, i'm upset about this verdict. but i'm more upset that we don't know WHO killed this little girl.

i don't blame the jury. they have instructions that are almost impossible to honestly adhere to.

especially hard to divide emotions, your gut or common sense.

what did the jury know that we didn't?

everything was circumstantial.  we need a law that we can charge a parent for not reporting a missing child.  period. 


a juror was interviewed and she said that there was no evidence linking the murder to ANYONE.  without a shadow of a doubt!!!  we can speculate and that's not acceptable.

Toyoji update

Kasey was in a wedding last month in Maryland and Micah and Toyoji joined her there.  The Groom's mother sent me a message today telling me that she got Toyoji to take a spin on the dance floor and with the help of his father, he told Dorothy all about his special name.

Mom in Maryville

Mom started having dizzy spells on friday and complained of a neck ache.  we thought it might have been caused by a change in pillows.  she went back to using her sobakana pillow and she thinks she woke up with a stiff neck.  on sunday, her dizziness scared her but instead of calling 911, she called her niece Miki to take her to a clinic.  thankgoodness for Miki being near.  Mom even got outside and looked at her car but she was too afraid to drive.  again, another thankgoodness.  

She was seen by a Physician Assitant (just like Micah).  on saturday, I got ahold of Micah and he checked in with her.  didn't sound serious but Micah asked her to call him ANYTIME if she had any more problems or questions.  she went to the clinic instead of calling Micah.

Vertigo and tightness in her neck and shoulder.  medication for dizziness and physical therapy for her neck.  and she sees her regular doctor in a week.

i think she got scared and worried about falling and hitting her head and knocking herself out and that raised her blood pressure and her blood sugar.  not a good combination.

today she filled her prescription per Micah's instructions and has been napping most of the day which was expected.

she sounds so sad and alone and pitiful.  i hate that.

new Pookie Treats

Recipe: Gluten Free Peanut Butter and Bacon Dog Treats

Summary: makes 15-20 treats

Ingredients

• 1 cup oat flour (you can just whip up your own by grinding up rolled oats)
• 1 cup brown rice flour (or you can substitute regular or whole wheat flour)
• 1/2 cup peanut butter (unsalted is best)
• 1 tablespoon honey
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup water
• 2-3 pieces cooked bacon
• 1 shredded carrot

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium bowl combine all wet ingredients until well blended. Add both flours to wet mixture to form dough.
2. Roll out between two pieces of parchment paper or lightly floured work surface to 1/4 inch thick.
3. Cut out with cookie cutter. (I used a dog bone shape cookie cutter)
4. Place treats on a parchment lined baking sheet (they can be close together, just not touching) and bake for 20-25 minutes.
5. Cool in oven, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
6. Store about a weeks worth on the counter in a sealed container and the rest can go in the freezer.

Amy, i don't remember what kind of sunlight you get on your back porch area (you know, where i sit and smoke) but this would be perfect for some herbs, or lettuce or even cherry tomatoes.

the instructions are on the link and there are many ways to adapt this to any area.  i think you need to grow some veggies for your veggie man!!!

here's another version i found that's full of succulents.  beautiful, huh!!!

 it's supposed to be the next big move in photography.  the same as when cameras went from film to digital.  it's amazing and you almost don't need to focus the camera!


a shoot and go with more editing abilities AFTER the picture is taken.  from what i understand it reads more "light" than the current cameras but i have no clue the price and it will probably be a zillion dollars.  lol


  the news report on TV says it was tested by a group but the camera was encased in a bulky case so that they couldn't see the "innards" of it.

if i post something interesting or send a picture without telling her where i am, she calls.


even though there are many interruptions during my day of "cleaning-cooking-farming", i enjoy the messages that make me stop and be with her.  i know that she is sitting there waiting for my response.  lol  how do i tell her that sometimes people don't answer text messages right away.  but i do.  and anyone else's message.  i can't help myself.  it's not like i'm sitting at a desk, slaving for da' man!! 

two things that made me smile today...... already

when i sit on my patio FACING Friars Road, this is my view:

i sit in the corner and watch the world go by peering through all my plants and "stuff."  

if you know me, you know how i feel about the NOISE on my lovely street so enough said about that!

so on most occasions, i love looking at my plants out there and it's especially nice between midnight and 2am.

and the other thing that made me smile.

I was washing rice for dinner tonight in this cute pink bowl with a strainer built in.  amazing tool, just amazing. but anyway, whenever i wash rice i can hear my Mom over my shoulder telling me that her mother would stand over her shoulder telling her how to wash the rice.  

Use just the right amount of water to get a not-yet-paste feeling and rub the rice between the bottom of the bowl and your curled knuckles.  There's a special technique to doing this, I was told.

And I have learned from the master and I really clean rice good!!!!  ha ha

p,s, that's my piggy spatula and my new spoon rest (white double hearts with ridges inside) that we got at the old rocker's thrift store in Ventura!!  Amy told me they are ex-rock band members (they have a cd) that can't rock n' roll anymore so they opened up this thrift store.  I found lots of stuff to buy, refurbish etc.  Also, can't remember the name of the band......

One day my mother was out, and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 and a half years old. Someone had given me a little tea set as a gift, and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him a little cup of tea, which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots osf praise for such yummy tea, my mom came home.

My dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because he thought that it was just the cutest thing.

Mom waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for daddy, and she watched him drink it.

Then she said to my dad, ``Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach the water is the toilet!``

5.  Bathroom Soap Dispensers harbor bacteria and grow as the soap scum builds up especially where you touch to dispense the soap.  Looks like my hand sanitizer is getting another workout.


6.  Shopping carts and those yummy free samples.  again, no explanation necessary.


7.  Airplane bathrooms - see above and buy more hand sanitizer.


8.  Doctor's office - bring your own magazine and remember that germ droplets from coughing and sneezing can travel about 3 feet before falling to the floor.

For Curly hair:

2.  Using Velcro rollers or a one-inch barrel curling iron, take small vertical sections of your hair and roll (or curl) them away from your face.  If using an iron, hold the curl for just a second or two.  You want to create a loose wave, not a defined curl.

3.  Flip your head over, run your fingers through to "mess" it up, and then lightly apply a pomade to ends.

4. Voila!

For Straight to wavy hair:

1.  Rough dry your hair.  Smooth out bangs or front pieces with a round brush.

2. Proceed step three above.
