Pookie Update

today pookie has been with us for one week!!!

he has had a few new discoveries:

he figured out he can go under our bed..... and we can't

he likes to stand at the window in the bedroom and watch.... we aren't sure what he's watching

he STILL has NOT barked..... not sure why and

he doesn't even bark when he's near another dog

he's been out several times with his leash and harness..... but he prefers to chew on both

he likes running down the hall of our building

he cries when he doesn't see one of us

he's alway at my side.....and i haven't stepped on him yet

and he likes to prance like Bambi

and we LOVE LOVE LOVE him.

Pookie Update

we had our first bath today

i got wetter than the dog

he HATED it

but didn't make any noise

that's one thing jamie and i realized today

pookie hasn't barked

i'm not complaining but i would like him to bark when someone knocks or comes to the door

but maybe he's not a barker

and that's okay

jamie went to the grocery store and three bags of treats jumped off the shelves and into his basket!

can you believe that?

me neither

i wish....

day four of pookie

well, he has mastered the steps to get on the couch

we are soooo proud of him

day three of pookie

went for another car ride today

went to the tax lady's office to sign income tax papers

walking along main street in la mesa, EVERYONE had to say hello to the cuteness in my arms

went to lowe's and you DO NOT like those rolly carts that make lots of noise

but we did stop to see a little boy that was crying really hard and convinced him that puppies don't like to hear little boys cry.  so the little boy looked at me with alligator tears and stopped crying while i talked to him

we bought some non-skid pads to put on a little step stool we have so that you can learn how to get on the couch yourself

still doing marvelous with the peepad and so proud of yourself.

day two of pookie

i can leap off the couch but can't quite get back up.

i pee and poop on my peepad and it makes mommy very very happy

i don't like the "outside" world and i shake a little because it's so loud

and i love my daddy cuz he calls me "lil bit".

I have a puppy and his name is POOKIE

if it's organic and on the list, it's all good....

i laid eyes on a dear friend tonight.  we had a quick meal but what was great was just seeing her.  seeing her smile and hearing her laugh.  i knew that i missed her but didn't realize how much.

she has accepted my invitation for a sukiyaki dinner.   yeah me!!!!

exciting news.....

well, it started when i met Weasel

then Amy sent me this

saying this:  

"Fankie needs a home, 6 month old Chihuahua terrier mix, I stole him from an abusive home. He's a good boy and all he wants is to play and be loved. He doesn't eat much and he likes to snuggle.......if your interested please let me know.  I know he is a he, but my friend Mark just rescued him.  Let me know if you are interested."

SO, Jamie said yes and Amy called Mark and Mark said i was the third one interested.

BUT, there are several Weasel puppies at the humane society near here and they are having a REDUCED ADOPTION FEE sale and so, I want to go there NOW.

i haven't started begging to go there yet but i may start soon.  i'm so excited but really really trying not to show it.

p.s. mucho gratitude to Amy, Weasel and Tom, the godparents to the puppy i hope to soon get.

i believe

I’m a firm believer that the biggest difference we can make in the world is not one that requires a lot of time, money, skill, education, or even talent.

I may not be able to go overseas and drill wells for a village but I can turn off my cell phone when the cashier checks me out at the grocery store, look her in the eyes, and thank her for her kindness in ringing up my groceries.

I can look people in the eye when they speak to me, I can smile in return and with all of my heart wish them a good day. Who knows, they just might have one as a direct result of my wishing. Stranger things have happened.

I truly believe that the biggest difference you can make in the world requires the ability to see people with your heart rather than your eyes or your preconceived notions, and to then take your heart and lift it up into your smile.

We all make a difference every day. The tiniest drop of water can lead to a wave and just because I don’t get to see my drop roll into that crashing tide doesn’t mean that I’m not contributing.
